Pays dividend to the Govt
Bolstered by increased business and record net profit, public sector company Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd. (RCF) today paid a dividend of Rs. 56.13 crore for fiscal 2009-10 to the Government.
RCF clocked its highest-ever net profit of Rs. 234.87 crore in FY10, which was a remarkable 11 per cent increase over the net profit of Rs. 211.58 crore recorded in FY09.
Celebrating this admirable performance, the Chairman and Managing Director of RCF, Shri J. Kohareswaran, presented the dividend cheque to the Union Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers, Shri. M.K. Alagiri, at a function here this morning. Among those present on the occasion was the Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Shri Srikant Kumar Jena and senior officers from the Department of Fertilizers and RCF.
During the year, RCF recorded a turnover of Rs. 5697.18 crore. In physical terms, the company sold 40.82 LMT of fertilizers. The company also achieved its highest ever sales of indigenous urea, imported DAP and the water soluble Sujala in FY10.
RCF has been steadily contributing to nation-building by manufacturing and marketing fertilizers and industrial chemicals, aimed at fulfilling the objectives of growth, profits and sharing of social responsibilities across India. It has fertilizers and chemicals manufacturing plants at two locations -- Trombay and Thal in Maharashtra. These plants produce nitrogenous, phosphatic and potassic fertilizers and a wide range of industrial chemicals. The Trombay unit of RCF acquired ISO 14001 for Environment Management System, OHSAS 18001 for Occupational Safety and Health Management System and ISO 9001 for Quality Management System Certification. The Thal unit acquired Integrated Management System for all these standards.
The company has once again been rated ‘Excellent’ on the basis of performance as per parameters in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed with the Government of India.
RCF has installed a 5 MGD sewage water treatment plant, which takes sewage from Mumbai Municipal Corporation and converts it into usable process water for the plants, after treatment.
Not just this, RCF is providing many Corporate Social Responsibility projects for the people around Thal & Trombay plants.
