"There has been an alarming rise in violence against women in West Bengal and Left Front constituents, particularly its women's wing, will step up an awareness campaign across the state," Front chairman Biman Bose said here today.

Bose said that ever since the new government came to power in the state, there has been an upswing in rate of crime against women which was not seen the past even.

He said that the Left Front, which met during the day, decided to hold a protest rally in the city on November 17 and campaign all over the state.
