"There is need for character building and reviving and reinvigorating ethical and moral values to establish a balanced and harmonious society," Vohra said while addressing the valedictory session of a two-day seminar on "Unity in Diversity" here.
The seminar was organised by the Ramakrishna Mission (Jammu) as part of the 150th Birthday celebrations of Swami Vivekananda.
The Governor said Swami Vivekananda was not only an eminent Indian but one of the most outstanding thinkers and philosophers who had a visionary view of the universe.
"India, with more than 5000 years of recorded history, is the best example of Unity in Diversity, where people from different religions and faiths, speaking different languages, have lived together for centuries. This spirit has to be rediscovered and strengthened," he said.
