1 killed, 12 injured in bus mishap

One passenger was killed and at least 12 others suffered injuries, three of them seriously, when a bus rammed into a tree on NH 33 under Dalbhumgarh police station area, about 60 km from here, in Ghatsila sub-division today, police said.
The Ranchi-bound bus was returning from Kolkata when the mishap occurred in the early hours, Officer-in-charge of police station Md. Tanzil said.
All the injured were taken to Dalbhumgarh Primary Health centre and three of them were later rushed to M G M Hospital here as their condition turned serious, he said.
Attributing overloading of goods than the capacity as one of the reasons behind the mishap, Tanzil said the other factor could be the conductor of the bus driving the vehicle and having lost control.

Both the conductor and the driver escaped.
