"Four head constables and six constables were suspended after their role was confirmed in an inquiry initiated by the police department following complaints received against them," Daman Superintendent of Police Meghna Yadav said.
Of the suspended policemen, six are from crime branch and two each are posted at as many police stations.
However, Yadav said she cannot immediately reveal the exact reason behind their suspension since the matter is being probed by the department.
However, sources said the policemen were found to have been involved in harassing tourists.
According to them, the police personnel were especially involved in harassing couples and would extract money from them.
