10-year imprisonment to SI for abetting wife's suicide

A police sub-inspector was awarded 10-year imprisonment for demanding dowry and abetting the suicide of his wife in 2009.
SI Sachin Garg was found guilty of abetting the suicide of his wife Neeru, the judgment pronounced yesterday by district judge KKSharma said.
According to the judgment,the victim's father on August 25 2009 had filed an FIR with with Kotwali Dehat accusing the SI of making dowry demands and torturing his daughter.
The victim's father alleged in the FIR that Garg forced his daughter to commit suicide.
