A complaint was filed yesterday by the father of the 10-year-old girl that said she was raped repeatedly by his brother-in-law, said a senior police officer.
"The victim's family claimed that the accused raped her on August 17. They also alleged that she was sexually assaulted on August 25 also by the accused. The allegation of second time rape was yet to be confirmed as there were contradictory statements from the family of the girl," said the officer.
The girl's father has also alleged that there was a family dispute between the two families over payment of certain dues and the accused raped their daughter in order to take revenge for not paying his rent, added the officer.
The accused claimed innocence and said that he was being framed by the girl's family as they haven't paid the rent, the officer said.
A case under Section 376 of IPC and relevant provisions of POCSO Act has been registered and the accused was arrested, added the officer.
