108 IRS officers under CBI probe for alleged corruption: Govt

As many as 108 officers of Indian Revenue Service (IRS) are under probe by the CBI for their alleged involvement in corruption, Rajya Sabha was informed today.
The CBI has registered cases of alleged corruption against 121 officials between 2012 and June 2015, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh said in a written reply.
Of these, 70 officers are of IRS (Customs and Central Excise), 38 of IRS (Income Tax), 12 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and one belonging to Indian Police Service (IPS), he said.
