The team consisting of Captain Sandeep Chauhan, two JCOs and nine other ranks (OR) will cycle for over 14 days and cover around 70-80 kms daily.
The expedition was flagged off by Western Air Command chief Air Marshal S B Deo and is aimed at inculcating the spirit of adventure amongst all ranks and to spread awareness on the advantages of cycling on health and in reducing pollution, an IAF statement said.
The unit was raised at Gillepie Lines, Meerut on December 21, 1941 and is celebrating its Platinum Jubilee this year.
