12-year-old girl burnt alive for resisting rape attempt

A 12-year-old girl was burnt alive allegedly by two youths when she resisted their attempt to rape her in a village in Kotwali area here.
The accused Rohit Thakur (22) and Shiv Shankar (20), who have been arrested, poured kerosene on the girl and set her ablaze after she raised an alarm when they attempted to rape her in Patsemra village on Friday, SP Vijay Yadav said today.
The girl was being harassed by the two youths, both from her village, for the past sometime, Yadav said.
The girl, who suffered 90 per cent burns, succumbed to injuries in Jhansi Medical College hospital, police said.

Before she died, the victim gave her statement to magistrate in the hospital.
