P Sakthidasan, hailing from Chengam region in Tiruvannamalai district, was admitted to the Government Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital here today with a bullet injury on his thigh.
Police said the injury appeared to be a gunshot wound and he sustained them while he had gone out to graze cattle near his village in Chengam region.
His family brought him to the government hospital here.
Police said they had alerted their counterparts in Chengam and were also following it up.
Doctors at the hospital said it was too early to comment on it.
