The 19-year-old accused befriended the girl, and on Friday, he took her to his room where he allegedly forced himself upon her, they said.
The girl later told her relatives about the incident following which police was informed. A case under Section 376 (rape) of IPC was registered and the accused arrested, a senior official said.
Police have, however, refuted claims by locals that some other persons were also present in the spot at the time of the incident.
