"Fifteen more marine police stations will be set up soon in addition to the existing 21 such police stations in the state," he told reporters after launching the I-CLIK (Instant Complaint Login Internet Kiosk) and mobile app 'Abhayam' for safety of citizens, particularly women.
I-CLIK enables citizens to log their grievances through an online kiosk. It focuses specifically on women's problems and issues.
He said the kiosk has been launched in the city as a pilot project and based on its performance, it will be adopted in other cities in the state.
The Home Minister said that the state government has effectively controlled the red sanders' smuggling in the state and a task force has also been established for the purpose.
The police department is taking all necessary steps to prevent 'ganja' smuggling in the state, particularly in agency areas of the district, he said.
The police department is striving hard to provide efficient, transparent and responsive administration in the state aided by latest technology and gadgets, he said.
State Director General of Police J V Rumudu said people's cooperation is essential to control crimes.
He appealed to girl students, who were present at the function, to utilise the facilities launched by the police for their safety.
