15-year-old girl killed as school bus hits motorbike

A 15-year-old girl was today killed when the bike she was riding on with her father was hit by a school bus in Hoshiyarpur area here, police said.
The victim has been identified as Neha Yadav, they said, adding that the mishap occurred when she was on her way to her Sector-34 school with her father.
Neha, who was riding pillion, was killed on the spot as the school bus rammed the motorbike, police said, adding that the driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the mishap.
Later, angered over the incident, villagers held a road blockade, which led to a traffic snarl in the area.

The irate locals alleged that mishaps have been taking place regularly in the Hoshiyarpur area and slammed the police saying they have not been able to control such incidents.
Village Pradhan Ajay Yadav said that the road near the village has been made narrow by a divider due to ongoing construction work.
