A 16-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped by a group of miscreants in Dhumari village of the district, police said today.
According to police, the girl went missing on December 26 and was last seen by some villagers who alleged that she was being forcibly carried away by a youth, identified as Gaurav Yadav, along with his accomplices.
A case has been registered against Yadav and his associates under relevant sections of the IPC on the police complaint lodged by the girl's father yesterday.
No arrests have been made so far, a police official said, adding that investigations were on and that efforts were being made to locate the minor.
