"If this trend of missing girls was not contained now, by 2021 the girls existence would be frightening," Jain said while addressing a workshop on sex ratio here.
"Crime against women and declining sex ratio should be a major concern of the state and central governments and public should be made aware of girls' importance in the family," she said.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajasthan Women and Child Development Minister Bina Kak said her department's new child policy would help to increase sex ratio in the society as there were a number of encouraging schemes for pregnant women and women empowerment.
