2 dead, 5 others injured as car collides head on with van

At least two persons including a woman died and five others injured in a head on collision between a car and a van in Odisha's Kalahandi district today, the police said.
The mishap took place near Gaigoan village on National Highway-26, the police said adding the two victims, a husband and wife, were in the car.
Their two children were critically injured in the accident and were rushed to a nearby government hospital.
While the car was coming from Puri to Umerkot in Nawrangpur district, the van coming from the opposite direction, the police.
The deceased were identified as Madhusmita Parida (28) and Sidhartha Behura (32). Both died on the spot.

Three persons travelling in the van including its driver were also seriously injured and are undergoing treatment at Bhawanipatna Government Hospital, the police said.
