2 drown in Mehla rivulet in Chamba

Two youths drowned in Mehla rivulet, a tributary of the river Ravi, near Mehla village of Chamba district, police said today.
The youths Satinder, of Chamba town, and Kamaljeet, of Anandpur Sahib in Punjab, drowned in the rivulet yesterday evening when they had gone there for a picnic with their families, police said.
One of them slipped while taking bath and the other jumped in to save him. As the current of water was very strong due to rains, both of them were swept away and drowned, police said.
The bodies of both the youths were fished out and handed over to their families after post mortem, police said.
