"The two drug traffickers Andrew (25) and Elrossi (26) residents of Churachandrapur in Manipur, were caught by Crime Branch cops near Sulhakul bus stand in Dwarka area of South West Delhi, while trying to deliver the contraband to a Nigerian member of the syndicate, on July 31, said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Ravindra Yadav.
Fifteen Kg of pseudo ephedrine (a controlled drug under the NDPS Act) and Rs one lakh in cash were recovered from them. The drug was worth Rs 1.5 crore in international market, he said.
Andrew had come to Delhi in 2010 and had started a business in readymade garments. He had also worked at a call centre in Janakpuri where he came in contact with some Nigerian nationals who indulged in drug trafficking, Yadav said.
Elrossi came to Delhi last year and came in touch with Andrew while working at the Call Centre in Janakpuri, added the officer.
