Speaker forced to suspend MPs: TDP

NDA's key ally TDP today said that Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan was "forced" to suspend the 25 Congress MPs, as she was left with no other option.
"Forcibly, she has to do that. But, otherwise, there is no option. They are pushing like that... It is only making of the opposition," Union Minister and TDP Parliamentary Party Leader Y S Chowdary told reporters here.
Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan today suspended 25 Congress members for five days for persistently, wilfully obstructing the House.
The Speaker 'named' the 25 Congress members who were carrying placards and shouting slogans in the Well while pressing for resignation of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje over Lalit Modi row and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan over Vyapam scam.

Stressing that the opposition parties could have raised their demand after allowing the External Affairs Minister to make her statement, Chowdary said it was a mystery as to why Congress was not allowing the discussion.
"...The External Affairs Minister wanted to give a statement. They can listen to the statement, allow the debate and afterwards demand whatever they want. But, they are not allowing, which is a mystery to everyone," he said.
