Sub inspector Rakesh Pratap Singh and constable Ashok Kumar were today spotted replacing six tyres of a truck stationed outside Makanpur police station that was seized by the police a week ago, with old ones, A K Mishra, Superintendent of Police (Rural) said.
The accused were caught by the DCP of Bilhaur region while on a routine visit to the station, he said.
A case has been registered against the duo, police said, adding that Kumar who was earlier posted at the station has been transfered to Kannauj district.
Further investigation is on to ascertain if more people were involved in the case, they added.
