The anti-corruption wing of CBI has arrested two officers of Railway Protection Force for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from a tea vendor.
Head constable Anil Sarve of RPF had demanded the bribe from Wardha-based Nitin Meshram to allow him to sell tea on the trains between Wardha and Nagpur. Meshram was supposed to pay him Rs 5,000 every month, a CBI release said today.
The ACB officers laid a trap and caught Sarve and his superior officer, inspector Peter Garvin, while taking the bribe at Wardha yesterday, it stated.
Searches were also conducted at their offices and houses and some documents were seized.
