Yameen and Shadab, who were on a bike, were trying to escape after snatching gold chains from one Lokesh Chowdhary yesterday night.
"Upon receiving the information about the chain snatching, the police chased the duo and cordoned them at Hindan canal road," said City Superintendent of Police Salman Taj Patil.
"Finding themselves trapped, they fired on police. In retaliation, police returned fire. One of them received bullet shot injury in his right leg. The duo fell down with their bike and were caught," he added.
"The duo have confessed to committing several offences in NCR area," Patil said.
