Two women were killed and six others injured when a speeding truck jumped the divider and overturned on the other side of the dual carriageway crushing two vehicles underneath it on Ring Road near Raja Garden Chowk in west Delhi today.
The truck, bearing a Haryana registration numberplate, was going from Raja Garden Chowk to Punjabi Bagh and was laden with household articles, said a senior police officer.
The truck jumped the divider and overturned on the other side of the carriageway crushing two vehicles -- a Honda Amaze and a Maruti Alto -- underneath it, the police officer said, adding that the accident took place around 7 AM.
A woman pedestrian, identified as Rama Devi (52), was killed as the car hit her while another woman, Murti Devi (60) who was in the Honda vehicle, succumbed to injuries during treatment, police said.

The occupants of the Alto car -- identified as Phool Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Udham Singh and four-year-old boy Bhawnesh -- escaped with minor injuries and were discharged from hospital after first-aid.
There was severe traffic congestion on Ring Road during morning rush hours due to the accident.
"Rama Devi used to stay in an nearby area. She used to work as a maid and was going to work when the accident took place," said the officer.
The occupants of the Alto car were heading to AIIMS for Bhawnesh's check-up, while the occupants of the Honda vehicle were heading towards Gurgaon.
"A case under sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 304 A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC has been registered against the errant truck driver at Rajouri Garden police station.
