28 fire related incidents in Chandigarh on Diwali

As many as 28 fire related incidents were reported from different parts of this Union Territory on Diwali, but there were no casualties, fire department official said here today.
"28 fire-related incidents were reported on Diwali. All incidents were minor in nature, barring the one in Dadumajra here where two shops--one selling firecrackers and another having decorative items, were gutted," the official said.
However, no big casualty was reported from anywhere, she said, adding a dog died in the fire incident at Dadumajra.
A motorcycle and a scooter were burnt in another fire at Burail in Sector 45 here.
