Around 350 personnel comprising different wings of police, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Malkajgiri Zone) Rama Rajeswari R and other senior police officers carried out the operation at Anjaiah Nagar in the early hours of today as part of an endeavor to make the city safe through "preventive policing in urban neighborhood".
"28 suspects were apprehended for further inquiry including two long-absconding persons who escaped warrants," the DCP said, adding that 51 two-wheelers were seized through due procedure as the claimants had absolutely no proof to support their claims.
"This area is increasingly becoming a shelter point for property offenders and anti-social elements," the senior police officer said.
