In its second meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) held at New Delhi recently, Ministry of Union Urban Development sanctioned the new fleet, according to a release.
Aiming to improve the urban transportation system in the country, the ministry is now holding the second round of approvals for sanctioning buses to state under JNURM.
Nearly 2,433 buses were sanctioned for cities in seven states in the second meeting, constituted for the purpose in New Delhi.
Over 286 buses were sanctioned for Jaipur, 50 each for Naya Raipur & Puducherry, 73 for Andhra Pradesh, 400 for Kerala and 910 for Maharashtra in the meeting.
