Sukhbir criticises Centre for ban on new industries in

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today lashed out at the Centre for allegedly imposing a ban on setting up of new industrial units in Ludhiana, terming it an "anti-industry" move.
Stating this while addressing a public rally at Wadala village after laying the foundation stone of a Railway Over Bridge here, Badal said if NDA government comes to power, it will lift all such bans.
Badal accused the UPA government of meting out step motherly treatment to Punjab.
Ludhiana was found to be the sixth most-polluted industrial zone in the Central Pollution Control Board's latest report, following which a ban was reportedly reimposed on setting up of new industries in there.

He further alleged, despite being a border state, the UPA government ignored Punjab while announcing industrial package to neighbouring states.
Announcing tube well connections for farmers having less than 5 acres of land, Badal said directions have been issued in this regard and the connections would be released within the next two months.
