Three people were arrested today in connection with the loot of a popular brand of 'zarda' (seasoned tobbaco) worth Rs 50 lakh from Aligarh last year, police said.
A total of 156 cartons of 'zarda' was also recovered from the arrested accused, said Madhur Verma, DCP (New Delhi).
The policemen of Barakhamba Road police station arrested Ashok Garg, 43, from Super Bazar, Connaught Place. A country-made pistol and two rounds of bullets were recovered from his car, said the officer.
During interrogation, Garg revealed the names of his associates -- Madan Lal Suryavanshi and Deepak Kumar.
The duo were arrested from Mayapuri, he said.
The cartons were looted from Aligarh on the intervening night of August 24-25, and a case was registered at Delhi Gate police station .
