As per police, on February 1 a case of robbery-cum-attempt-to-murder was reported in which the complainant had told police that she was sleeping on the first floor of her house and her mother-in-law Puspha Goel (55) was present at the ground floor in the house.
"At about 4 pm, she heard her mother-in-law shouting for help and she rushed to ground floor. As soon as she reached ground floor, she saw that Suresh alias Dablu, who is son of her maid servant, along with his two associates, was running out of their house. She found her mother in law lying in a pool of blood in bedroom," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) B S Jaiswal.
Police conducted raids at various possible hideouts of suspected criminals in Pratapgarh, Lalganj, Allahabad, Raibraley and other eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh.
"Finally, Ajay Maurya (24), a resident of Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested from Allahabad Railway Station. At his instance, his associate Vijay Mishra (22) was also arrested from Noida. Later, Suresh alias Dablu (26) surrendered in court," said Jaiswal.
During interrogation, Suresh reportedly told police that his mother has been working as maid servant at the house of the complainant for the last 10-15 years. He used to visit the house of the complainant for electric repair work and was aware that huge cash and jewellery was available at the house of the complainant.
