The arrested have been identified as Himanshu Tiwari (29), Sachin Mishra (33) and Saurabh Tripathi (21).
While Tiwari is a freelance journalist who had earlier worked with AtoZ channel, Mishra is Manager, Information Technology, in INDIA TV. Tripathi is a System Administrator in INDIA TV.
"The doctor was threatened and extorted by th emedia persons who made a video film of his clinic in which the doctor was shown attending to a patient and prescribing allopathic medicine and demanded Rs. 5 lakh from him.
"Yesterday, they were called at Jeevan Anmol Hospital in Mayur Vihar Phase-I to take delivery of Rs. 1.5 lakh in return for a pen drive of the video made by them," police said.
Tripathi was arrested when he allegedly came to collect money while the others were arrested later.
