The accused -- Shahnawaj, Irshad and Shakir -- used to roam around various areas to select their target in a Honda City car sporting an advocate sticker to deflect police, said Ajit Kumar Singla, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-east).
They were arrested from G T Road in Seelampur yesterday following a tip-off.
The gang had bought the car 7-8 years ago. They purchased the advocate sticker from Dwarka court complex where they used to visit frequently in connection with various cases.
A semi-automatic pistol with five live cartridges and two knives were recovered from them, the police officer said.
Eighteen cases have been solved with the arrest of the trio, Singla claimed.
