The three were residents of Gangpur and were coming to Burdwan when the accident occurred.
The lorry was seized while its driver and cleaner fled, police said
The victims were identified as Vicky Adhikary (23), Ranjit Mistry (23) and Sukumar Dhara (19), police said.
Local people said they were coming to Burdwan after joining a Trinamool Congress rally at Gangpur.
They also put up a road blockade to protest against the accident for sometime.
