Thirty Congress women activists have been booked for allegedly holding a protest in violation of prohibitory orders here, police said.
SI Rajkumar Sharma of Kotwali Police Station registered the case against 30 activists, including district president of women cell Bilkis Choudhry, last evening for holding the protest without permission in the area where prohibitory orders were in place, they said.
The activists were protesting against the policies of the central and the Uttar Pradesh governments yesterday at Shiv Chowk area of the city.
They also burnt effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav during the protest.
