Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya honoured 31 teachers of the state here Wednesday on the occasion of Teachers' Day asking them to teach students to dream big.
"You should teach students to dream big and help them to achieve their goal in life. The credit for the success of a student goes as much to him as to his teachers," she said after conferring 31 teachers of government schools with the Governor's Teachers Award at a function.
She also asked the teachers to pay attention to every child and give them extra classes if necessary so that they do not need tuitions.
Governor' Teacher's Award was instituted by former Uttarakhand governor K K Paul to improve the quality of teaching in government schools of the state.
The teachers got Rs 10,000 in cash and a citation as part of the award besides a copy each ofSwami Vivekananda's biography and a collection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's selected addresses on 'Man ki Baat', an official release here said.
