Thirty-five tourists were stuck when ropeway cable cars halted in the middle of a journey at Digha in East Midnapore district today.
A district official said two of the 35 tourists were hospitalised after the cable cars resumed the journey and returned to the starting point and the tourists were safely brought to the ground.
The two ailing tourists were later discharged.
The ropeway had been inaugurated by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee barely a month back.
The administration ordered a probe into the snag and summoned engineers of the private firm which had set up the tourist facility on the beach.
