350 cartons of illegal liquor seized, four arrested

The excise department has seized 350 cartons of illegal liquor, worth Rs 15 lakh in the district and arrested four persons in this regard.
The smuggled liquor was recovered from a closed paper mill compound near Rohana in the district in a raid led by Inspector Himmat Singh yesterday, District Excise Officer, Kurendra Singh said.
A truck was also recovered from the spot, he said.
Four smugglers identified as Manoj, Rishipal, Raghuvir and Devi Singh from Haryana were arrested in this connection, he added.
The liquor was reportedly smuggled from Haryana to Uttar Pradesh, the official said.
