4 arrested for demanding extortion money from UP businessman

Four people were arrested for allegedly sending a threat letter inside a box of sweets demanding Rs 60 lakh from a businessman in Shamli district, police said today.
Devender, Gaurav, Ompal and Ravinder were arrested yesterday and two pistols recovered from their possession, Additional Superintendent of Police Jagdish Sharma said.
The accused had demanded Rs 60 lakh as extortion money from factory owner Naresh Kumar and threatened to kill his two sons if he failed to oblige, Sharma added.
