4 drown, 8 rescued from Brahmaputra in Assam

Four minor boys drowned in the Brahmaputra river at Sunsali area on Sunday, while eight others were rescued, police said.

The deceased, aged between 12 and 14 years, had gone to bath in a group in the river when the mishap took place, they said.

The remaining eight were safely rescued by the SDRF and River Police, a police officer said.

All of them hailed from Nijorapar area of the city, he added.
