The four, travelling in a car, were arrested by the police for carrying seven kg of ganja during a routine vehicle check near the coastal town of Tirupullani.
During interrogation, the four said they purchased the narcotic stuff from a person in Usilampatti in Madurai district for Rs 2 lakh and were planning to take it to Sri Lanka.
They were produced before a court which remanded them to judicial custody.
