The incident occurred last night when the victims were returning home after a tilak ceremony at a relative's house.
Avdhesh Misra (50), Abhinav (7) and Golu (13) died on the spot, while the driver Anas (25) succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital.
The two injured were admitted to Kanpur hospital, police said.
The bodies have been sent for post mortem, they said.
Meanwhile, local Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav has announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased persons.
