Inspector General (Prisons) has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
The undertrials who were part of a batch seven accused, including an Israeli and a Portuguese national, who were produced before a judge of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) court at Mapusa yesterday where they even showed scar marks.
The four were sent to the state run Goa Medical College and Hospital where medical reports confirmed that some of them had suffered fractures as well as bruises and other injuries.
The NDPS court too has taken cognizance of the issue and has reported the matter to Goa Human Rights Commission as well as the North Goa district court.
