The formation of commission is under progress and the bill in this regard will be tabled in the next Assembly session, Punjab Higher Education Minister Surjit Singh Rakhra today said.
Rakhra, who was here to hand over a cheque of Rs 39 lakh to Principal of Saroop Rani Government College for Women, said that Punjab government will take every possible measure to restrain private educational institutions, if they are charging excess fees from students.
He asserted that the rules and regulations of University Grants Commission will have to be implemented scrupulously in all private institutions and no one will be allowed to flout the UGC norms.
For the upcoming academic session, 13 new colleges will become operational in the state as the construction work was on advanced stage of completion, he added.
