Acting on a tip-off police arrested the smugglers from the embankment near Rampur Dubauliya village in the district, East Champaran Superintendent of Police (SP) Sudhir Kumar Singh said.
They were riding on two motorcycles and carrying the charas sealed in various packets. The SP said it seems the consignment had been brought from Nepal.
"The arrested persons have confessed the drugs consignment was being brought for trade, and Kanpur was its destination. The culprits had planned to mix other material in the high quality charas and increase its quantity," Singh said.
Charas is made from resin derived from cannabis plant.
