48-year-old man killed in bear attack

A 48-year-old man was killed in an attack by a bear in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.
According to police, Mohd Bashir was returning to Ardhi village late last night when he was attacked by the bear in the forests near his home.
Hearing his cries, people nearby rushed to his help, prompting the bear to flee. He was then taken to hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The body was handed over to the deceased's family members after post-mortem, they said.
