5 arrested, 1.6 kg of narcotics seized

Jalandhar police have arrested five people from different parts of the city and seized 1.6 kg of narcotics and other intoxicants from them.
According to SSP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, in Goraya area of the city, a person was stopped by the police for his involvement in suspicious activities and during the search 1.6 kg of opium was seized from him.
The person has been identified as Rajveer Singh, a resident of Ludhiana, he said.
In another incident, Bhullar said, four people were arrested by the police, seized a large quatity of intoxicant capsules from them.
Cases have been filed against all the accused and they are being interrogated, he added.
