The incident took place near Ranital, about 50 km from here, when the bus carrying the marriage party was returning to Bilgai from Fatehpur village in Damoh district, they said.
The bus overturned due to high speed. While the five people died on the spot, the 14 injured were rushed to government hospitals in Bijawar and Chhattarpur.
The bride and groom escaped unhurt as they were travelling in a different vehicle, police said.
