A truck, car and a bike were intercepted by a joint team of excise and police officials and 530 cartons of illegal liquor valued at Rs 17 Leah was recovered, District Excise Officer Karunendra Singh said.
One Ravinder was arrested while four his four accomplices managed to flee from the spot, he said.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened to prevent supply of illegal liquor during the upcoming Panchayat polls in Uttar Pradesh.
A case has been registered against five persons under various Sections of the IPC and Excise Act, police said.
