Acting on a tip off, the gang was arrested yesterday and an 'ashtdhatu' (eight mix metals) idol of Lord Ganesh covered in a sack was recovered from their possession, SP VK Misra said.
The idol is said to be worth crores of rupees in the international market, the SP said, adding, the recovered idol was stolen from Rae Bareli and the gang was trying to sell it.
