Six persons, including the manager of a bank, were killed and ten others injured today as robbers raided a bank here on the outskirts of the Bangladeshi capital, police said.
"The robbers killed five people including the manager of the bank," a police officer said adding that people in the neighbourhood retaliated lynching a robber.
"The dacoits used guns and exploded devices to scare the people away," he said.
Police said it is not clear how much money was taken away from the bank.
Two of the deceased have been identified as the branch's manager Md Oliullah and a customer.
At least 10 people were injured during gunfire and they are being treated at a nearby hospital.
